Terrace to host BC Chamber Energy Summit this Friday

Terrace is the destination this Friday for those looking to learn more about the bounty of LNG projects on the horizon for Northwest British Columbia, as the BC Chamber of Commerce presents an Energy Summit for the Northwest.

With the working title of the day being “Putting Facts on the Table”,  the half day forum will provide for a variety of information sessions on a number of topics, including; Liquefied Natural Gas, Gas Pipelines and Shipping and Safety, Community Partnerships and Sustainability.

The sessions run from 9 AM to 1:30 PM, taking place at the Terrace Best Western Inn on Greig Avenue.

The Agenda for the day offers up a pair of key speakers on the topic of development with Keynote Speaker, Geoff Morrison of the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers, discussing what is LNG, what is the opportunity and what does this mean to BC’s economy.

To wrap the day up will be   Luncheon Speaker will be Miro Cernetig, an Industry writer and former columnist and bureau chief for the Vancouver Sun and the Globe and Mail, who will provide his perspective to some of the planned developments for the Northwest.

Participants will also hear from Graeme McLaren, The BC Government's Assistant Deputy Minister for the Oil and Gas Division, Ministry of Energy Mines and Natural Gas.

As well, those taking part in the Summit can explore the presentations of and ask questions from a number of panels, offering up information on such items as Pipeline Safety and Sustainability, LNG Plants, Shipping Safely to Market and Community Benefits.

Admission into the Energy Summit is 25 dollars for the day.
