Stormy weather leads to BC Ferry Sailing Cancellation

The arrival of some nasty weather on the North Coast has resulted in the cancellation of Friday's 1PM sailing of the Northern Expedition, with a revised schedule now in effect for the next few days.




Owing to the adverse weather conditions, the Northern Expedition will hold in port until Saturday, February 23rd the revised schedule now calling for a planned 7 AM departure time. Subject to change as weather conditions may provide for.

Environment Canada issued a Storm Warning for the waters of the North Coast at 4 PM on Thursday, calling for Winds of 15 to 25 knots increasing to Southeasterly winds to 55 gusting to 63 knots this evening, diminishing overnight and then increasing once again to 35 to 45 knots by Friday evening.

Seas were expected to register at 1 to 2 metres building to 4 metres through the evening, subsiding through the overnight and then building to 4 metres again on Friday.
