North Coast Killer whale video goes viral

Some video shot Wednesday from an outing off the coast of Prince Rupert has gone viral, as Travis Twizzell's accounts of travels just outside of Prince Rupert provide a graphic view of whales in pursuit of sea lions off the coast.

Those on the boat are clearly surprised by the sudden arrival of the whales in pursuit of their prey (be advised there is some language involved as well as the visual of a whale finding its target during the video).

The experience lasts less than three minutes, but provides for some fascinating video of the drama that played out alongside the vessel.

Needless to say, the video has found its way to the Huffington Post and Vancouver Sun among other news portals, which have made the video a bit of a Friday sensation.

The incident highlights the growing number of encounters on the Pacific coast in recent months.
