Snowfall Warnings issued for North Coast Inland areas for Tuesday



Those with travel plans this spring break through the Northwest will wish to make note of the Weather forecast for Tuesday, as Environment Canada issues a Snowfall Warning for the North Coast Inland Sections.

At the same time, an accompanying Special Weather Statement  was issued for the Smithers to Terrace stretch of Highway 16.



The twin warnings were posted to the Environment Canada website late Monday afternoon.

The Snowfall warning is calling for heavy snow through Tuesday as a pacific frontal system crosses the region, Total snowfall amounts are expected to be towards 20 centimetres by the time the system passes, tapering to flurries or rain showers by Tuesday evening.

Snowfall Warning North Coast Inland/Special Weather Statement (Smithers to Terrace)

For Coastal regions of the North Coast, heavy rain and wind will come with the frontal system as it arrives on the coast, with anticipated rainfall of 40 mm from late Monday night through Tuesday, periods of rain are expected to continue on through until Wednesday.
