Highway 16 CLOSED West of Smithers due to Serious Motor Vehicle Incident

Highway 16 Re-opened to single land alternating traffic early Sunday morning.



Highway 16 was Closed to traffic in both directions in the early portion of Saturday evening, as Emergency Response Personnel responded to what is being described as a serious Motor Vehicle Incident.

The affected portion of the highway is located 36 kilometres west of Smithers, near the Moricetown area.  No Detour route is available for those travelling in either direction.
