Blog Watching, Week ending July 13, 2014


As part of a weekly feature on the blog, every Sunday we offer up this weeks recap of the top five items viewed over the course of the last seven days.

This week,  LNG issues appear to have dominated the interest cycle, with four of the five top items related to discussion on that topic.

The other item of the top five was one that highlighted the attention given to an Edmonton Journal opinion page piece, with a contributor to that newspaper suggesting that Prince Rupert could be the next destination for Enbridge Energy and their pipeline planning.

Kicking off the top five items, a our week that was, a full evening of presentations for City Council.

LNG Terminals once again on the agenda for Prince Rupert Council --   Our look ahead to last Monday's presentations to Council on the theme of LNG development (posted July 7, 2014)

Edmonton Journal Opinion piece points Enbridge towards Prince Rupert  -- A former member of the Edmonton Metro Planning Commission raises the flag for Enbridge and their pipeline plans, suggesting an alternate destination. (posted July 8, 2014)

Presentation for Council puts a focus on Flora Banks --   Prince Rupert City Council receives an environmental review from a locally based scientist, who provides her thoughts on the impact of LNG development on an area off of Lelu Island. (posted July 10, 2014)

Aurora LNG project consideration requested of CEAA, invitation for comment period now open -- With two proposals for locations to consider, the Aurora LNG project proposed by CNOOC/Nexen moves to the public comment phase.  (posted July 8, 2014)
