4.4 temblor recorded along Pacific Fault line south of Haida Gwaii this afternoon

Another in a string of mid range earthquakes has rolled along the fault line between Haida Gwaii and Vancouver Island this afternoon, with a 4.4 magnitude earthquake recorded some 165 kilometres West of Port Hardy.

The quake which took place at 4:07 this afternoon is in much the same area as previous ones in recent weeks, all of which have ranged in the 45.5 to 5 magnitude range.

No damage is expected from this afternoons seismic event, the West Coast and Alaska Tsunami Warning Centre issued this notice to advise that there was no Tsunami Danger from this event.
