City to host recruitment drive for Volunteer Services

As residents of the North Coast have learned in the past, nature sometimes provides for more than a few challenging situations to deal with.

Past experiences from wind storms, flooding of the Skeena and the loss of natural gas a few years ago highlighted the need to be prepared and to have information and services ready to the community when required.

Towards that goal, the City of Prince Rupert will be hosing a recruitment drive and information session later this month, designed to provide more information for residents of the city on how they can make a difference in the community, by lending a hand in helping out should the any major emergency situation arise.

The event scheduled for Tuesday October 20th from 5 to 8 PM, takes place at the Salvation Army at 25 Grenville Court.

The evening will include a dinner, the introduction of to Emergency Social Services and Prize draw to bring the night to a close.

The information session is an RSVP event and you can do so by contacting emergency.response@princeprupert.ca

The deadline to indicate your participation is October 16th.

You can find out more about the event from this item from the City's website
