Wind Warning in effect for North Coast, Haida Gwaii; Snowfall warning for inland areas

of the weather system coming ashore on the North Coast
and Southeastern Alaska over the next day or so

With an intense Pacific frontal system making its way towards the North Coast today, Environment Canada has expanded on its Wind Warning issued for Haida Gwaii on Sunday.

The expanded warning now includes  the North Coast which could see strengthening winds through the afternoon and into the evening with gusts of between 100 to 120 kilometres per hour a possibility as the front moves inland.

Warnings have been issued for Haida Gwaii,
the North and Central Coasts and areas of the Inland North Coast area

The weather system is setting the scene for periods of rain through until  Thursday.

In addition to the Wind Warnings, a snowfall warning has been issued for the Terrace area with up to 30 cm anticipated for Stewart and towards 10 cm for the Terrace/Kitimat area.
