Prince Rupert Middle School Storm set for Grade Eight championships

With one Zones banner already in hand for the Prince Rupert Middle School Gym, the Storm's Boys squad is in Pitt Meadows today, ready for the tip off tomorrow in the Grade 8 Provincial Invitational Championships.

The three day tournament launches on Thursday with the Prince Rupert Storm in action against Vancouver's Sir Winston Churchill with tip off set for the Noon hour tomorrow.

Sixteen teams have received invitations to bring the Grade 8 basketball season to an end, with the Prince Rupert team joining teams from Vancouver Island, the Interior and Lower Mainland at the Pitt Meadows tourney.

The Storm will be looking to topple some of the top ranked teams from across the province as they chart a course towards the Championship finale on Saturday afternoon at 4:15

The full boys schedule for the tournament can be viewed here.

While the Girls Schedule can be found here.

The Storm is just the latest basketball team from the North Coast to make a trip to Vancouver for a championship run, the Charles Hays Junior Boys just wrapped up their time in Langley at Provincials coming home with a 1 and 3 record from their weekend of play.

The Senior Boys claimed the Northwest AAA Zones over the weekend in a two game series with Caledonia in Terrace, they now make plans for their trip to the Provincials in Langley from March 9 to 12.
