Inter tidal ecosystems the theme for tonight's North Coast Marine Speaker Series

Dr. Travis Gerwing is the guest
speaker tonight for the North
Coast Marine Speaker Series
The final get together for 2016 for the North Coast Marine Speaker Series takes place tonight at Northwest Community College as Dr. Travis Gerwing provides a look at his work related to inter-tidal ecosystems on the North Coast.

Dr. Gerwing has been conducting studies along the coast near Port Edward and Prince Rupert and will outline how the inter-tidal community can act as an early warning system, with the potential to identify coastal disturbances before they can magnify their way up the food web and have an impact human use species such as salmon.

Dr. Gerwing has an extensive resume of research and study into the field and will share many of his observations as  part of tonight's program which starts at 7:30 PM at the 5th Street campus of NWCC in Prince Rupert.

You can find out more about this evenings season finale and what the North Coast Marine Speaker Series has planned for 2017 by contacting Caitlin Birdsall at 250-975-1614.
