Rainmaker Boys ready for lift off at Pitt Meadows Tourney

The run towards March gets into full swing this month as the Charles Hays Senior Boy's Rainmakers hit the road for their first significant tournament of 2017.

The Senior Boy's team is in Pitt Meadows this weekend for the highly competitive Pitt Meadows Air Show one of the many showcase events that take place in the Lower Mainland through January, with the Rainmakers taking to the court today in the first of three days of play.

The Tournament is hosted by the Pitt Meadows Secondary Marauders and with the first of six games on day one getting underway at 11:30 this morning, setting the scene for the three days of action at the Pitt Meadows Gym.

Along with the host Marauders and the Rainmakers, the tournament features Charles Tupper, Port Moody, Heritage Woods, North Delta, Belmont, Collingwood, Nanaimo and District, Mount Boucherie, Cambie and Burnaby Mountain.

The Charles Hays squad is on the court this afternoon at 4:45 in a match up with the Burnaby Mountain Lions in the second last game of the first day of tournament play.

Should they successfully navigate the schedule ahead, the Rainmakers would play in the Championship game on Saturday Night at 7:15 PM.

The Rainmakers head into the Vancouver area tournament bubbling under the top ten list for High School Basketball in the province.

CHSS has a spot among the AAA level honourable mentions this week, sharing some space with Northwest rival Caledonia which also listed in the most recent Province Newspaper AAA rankings which were released on Wednesday.

Some options to keep up on the action could come from the Marauder Hoops home page, the Pitt Meadows Secondary Twitter feed along with the CHSS Twitter feed which will have updates on the Rainmaker effort as they become available.
