April date set for Public Information session on Neptune Inn conversion proposal

Macro Properties proposed
redevelopment of the Neptune Inn will be
the subject of a community information
meeting next week

The public will have their first opportunity early next month to share some thoughts on the proposed redevelopment of the old Neptune Inn, with an opportunity to comment on the plans of Macro Properties to turn the former motor hotel into housing targeted for Independent Seniors Fifty Five years of age and above.

The Macro Properties hosted session has been scheduled to take place Wednesday April 5th, in the Boardroom  (Room 155) of the Fifth Street campus of Northwest Community College.

The public engagement session will feature a Two part Open House process from 5 to 5:30 and again from 6:15 to 7 PM with a Question and Answer Session taking place in between from 5:30 to 6:15.

Members of the public will be offered the opportunity to provide comments to Macro properties, those observations will provide City Council with some feedback on how the community views the proposed development and what concerns or notes of interest the public may have to offer about it.

The project was introduced to Prince Rupert City Council earlier this year, with Macro providing an overview for Council as to what their proposal will offer to Seniors and how they believe it fills a significant need in the community.

Some of our notes on the proposal to Council can be found below:

January 11 -- Council moves forward with Neptune Inn plan for Seniors Housing
January 6 -- Details on proposed Senior Housing project for Neptune site to be reviewed by Council

The Community Information Session is a requirement of the City's process before any approval for development can be granted.
