Children's Day in the Park marks Fifth Anniversary Saturday


Since the very first edition of 2012, the Children's Day in the Park has proven to be a popular summer event for Prince Rupert and the fun times are here once again as edition Number Five is set for tomorrow at Mariner's Park.

Hosted by the Prince Rupert office of Success by Six, the daylong festival of children's activities will get underway at 11 AM and for the rest of the day games, dancing, music, children's entertainment will keep young and old hopping through the afternoon.

Wii Gisigwilgwelk Dancers

Face painting with Rachael 

Kids Yoga

As well as the entertainment for the youngsters, the youth of the community will also be part of the entertainment line up with a numbers of performances planned through the day.

A range of local provincial and local organizations have helped out with the funding for this years event on Saturday, as well as for a number of workshops that have taken place over the last three days in the lead up to the Saturday in the Park finale.

Should the weather not cooperate with the outdoor plans for tomorrow, the Civic Centre will be on stand by to open the doors to the stream of young people ready to celebrate their Day, whether it be in the park or in the Gym ...
