RCMP seek public assistance in PJ's Park Avenue Foods robbery

The Prince Rupert RCMP is turning to the public for assistance as they continue their investigation into an armed robbery on the city's west side at PJ's Park Avenue Foods on July 17th.

The convenience store located at 1665 Park Avenue was the target of a lone suspect who entered the store at 11 PM on the 17th, producing a weapon and demanding money from the cashier.

The suspect exited the store with an undisclosed amount of cash and fled Southbound on Smithers Street towards Sloan Avenue.

Prince Rupert RCMP are looking for a suspect described as being 5 foot 6 inches in height, with a stocky build. The suspect also had their face covered and appeared to have paint on their face underneath the disguise.

The mounties note that one potential witness may have observed the suspect walking on Smithers Street at the time of the robbery and the would like to hear from that person as part of their investigation.
