The NDP is committed to implementing the UN Declaration, Article 32 of which is intended to protect indigenous lands/interests from resource development by requiring free, informed, prior consent. Lax Kwalaams is relying on the Declaration to support an oil pipeline and tanker project. Will the NDP implement the Declaration by opposing the oil tanker moratorium and reducing the size of the Great Bear protected area because that is what Lax Kwalaams wants?<br /><br />The statement from Lax Kwalaams is cleverly drafted.
