Prince Rupert Rampage and Salvation Army both big winners from Port sponsorship

The local entry in the Central Interior Hockey League has picked up a major sponsor for the 2012-13 season, as the Port of Prince Rupert signs on as the title sponsor for the Prince Rupert Rampage for this season.

The Port outlined their contribution to the Rampage for this season in a press release on Thursday, October 4th, heralding the impact that the local hockey team has had on the community since their franchise was granted in 2008, bringing Senior Men's hockey back to the Northwest after a lengthy absence.

In addition to their sponsorship of the hockey team for this season, the Port also outlined a project which will see 100 dollars contributed to the Salvation Army for every Rampage goal scored at home this season.

A bit of adde incentive for the home side, which will make the Jim Ciccone Civic Centre a very loud place we imagine should the Rampage find their range on home ice, with the Salvation Army and its programs in Prince Rupert one of the main beneficiaries.

The contributions to the Rampage and the Salvation Army are just the latest in donations to local causes that the Port of Prince Rupert have made in 2012.
