It's already been a most unusual season for the Prince Rupert Rampage, their CIHL efforts in 2012-13 thus far conducted entirely on the road.
However, the friendly confines of the Jim Ciccone Civic Centre beckon for Saturday night, when the Rampage open up their home schedule with the Kitimat Ice Demons in town for a key West division match up.
The Rampage were forced onto the road earlier this fall, when ice troubles at the Civic Centre resulted in the CIHL loading up the front part of the CIHL schedule with road travel. Turning the Rampage into the ultimate of road warriors through October.
That much road travel has had its impact on the Rampage in the win-loss column, but they've held their own in the standings thus far in the year. Heading into Saturday night, the Rampage are sporting a record of 1 win, 1 tie and 3 losses on their five games.
The competition for Saturday will no doubt be tough, the Ice Demons are among the top of the CIHL, with just one loss so far in six games of play, holding the second best record in the league heading into mid November.
One group that will be hoping for the Rampage to find their offensive range and fill the net will be the Salvation Army.
The Prince Rupert Port Authority has become the team's title sponsor for 2012-13 and last month announced that they will contribute 100 dollars to the Salvation Army for every Rampage goal scored at home this year.
The goal count will commence Saturday when the puck drops at 7:30 Saturday night.
