Residents of Port Edward, Oona River and Kitkatla will be without power perhaps until the dinner hour, as BC Hydro works to re-connect the communities back to the provincial power grid.
The power went out around 11 am this morning, when what is described as a high-load semi trailer snagged a low hanging Telus line, breaking two poles in the process leaving four others leaning at a dangerous angle.
In order to properly repair the trouble spot, located on the road into Port Edward, Hydro has de-energized the line, turning the power off to the communities.
