They may be facing some increased competition in the months to come, but Terrace based Hawkair has received a helpful shout out, part of a province wide feature of video vignettes, saluting the northwest airline's importance and impact on life in the region.
As one of the recently released features called BC People, Hawkair was highlighted in a two minute feature. One which focused on the service the airline provides to the region, the employment that it provides to the community and the story behind its development over the last decade.
As well as a look at its past, the vignette updates viewers on the airline's plans heading into the future for the airline
And while the Terrace airport tarmac may get a little more congested with the arrival of West Jet this fall and the increase of flights for Air Canada Jazz out of Terrace, the hometown Northwest airline still holds a special place in the travel arrangements for many Northwest residents.
