The North Coast Running Season on the horizon
The arrival of warmer temperatures and the promise of the final banishment of winter has Prince Rupert's running community starting to take to the local roads and tracks, preparations no doubt for the first of the spring and summer season of marathons and running events.
The first of the season comes up pretty fast with the 33rd Annual half Marathon, Two person Relay and 8K race, all set for Sunday April 13th.
All races start from the Lester Centre and travel along Highway 16 towards the Galloway Rapids rest area.
The start time for the first running events of the year to be at 1 PM for the Half Marathon, 2 PM for the 8K race.
Registration can take place by mail, or at a pre race registration session on Saturday April 12th from 10 to Noon at the Civic Centre. Sunday registration takes place from Noon to 12:45 at the Civic Centre.
Entry fees for Participants are 30 dollars for individuals, 60 dollars for teams, members of the Rupert Runners can deduct 5 dollars from those amounts.
