The RCMP in British Columbia have issued an Amber Alert regarding a case file from Alberta.

On Wednesday morning  the RCMP began seeking the assistance of the public in locating a mother who is travelling with her two children.

The incident in question began in Vulcan, Alberta with the mother taking her two daughters and travelling to British Columbia, with a possible destination in mind of Vancouver Island.

She was last seen in Golden, British Columbia and the RCMP have moved the investigation into her travels to a higher level of concern, with the RCMP advising that they have received information that provides for reasonable concern for the safety of her two children.

An arrest warrant has been issued for Trina Meisel, who is believed to be travelling in a black 2007 Honda CRV, with an Alberta licence plate of ORNRSE

Should anyone see Ms. Meisel, her children or the vehicle in question they are asked to contact 9-1-1 immediately.

For more background on the Amber Alert, the RCMP have provided this review of the incident of concern.

Photos of Ms. Meisel and her two children are included as part of that review.

The RCMP will update the file as developments warrant.

Update: Late Wednesday afternoon the RCMP cancelled the Amber Alert, no details as to the change of the situation were provided at that time. However, later in the evening the RCMP provided more details into the conclusion of the search.
