Blog Watching, Week ending May 11, 2014

This week, items of provincial and municipal politics dominated our top five items of review.

With our top item of the week being the BC Liberal Government's moves to continue to deflect the ongoing questions of the NDP , which is seeking a shuttle bus for the isolated communities of Highway 16.

From there, the first political ad for the November municipal election caught the attention of our readers, as Mayor Jack Mussallem provided the first of his talking points in seeking re-election.

A review of MLA Robin Austin's inquiries on aquaculture, a look at the North Central Local Government Association in Convention and the successful opening weekend for the North Pacific Cannery Historical site all round out the top five of the week.

BC Liberal Government deflects NDP's Highway of Tears Transportation issue --  The quest of North Coast MLA Jennifer Rice to see a shuttle bus program in place for Highway 16 continues to be deflected by the BC Liberals (posted May 4, 2014)

Northern British Columbia officials gather in convention in Fort St. John -- Officials from municipalities and Regional Districts across Northern BC meet for the annual North Central Local Government Association convention  (posted May 8, 2014)

North Pacific Historical Site has spectacular season opener -- The 2014 Tourism season opened up for Port Edward's North Pacific Cannery, with the site hosting a Community Science celebration as part of its opening weekend   (posted May 6, 2014)
