Blog Watching, Week ending May 18, 2014

This week, items of provincial and municipal politics, education and LNG held spots in our top five items of review.
With our top item of the week being the the comments of Prince Rupert Mayor Jack Mussallem, who offered up some thoughts on the topic of provincial input on the theme of a shuttle bus for the isolated communities of Highway 16.
From there, the the discussion on LNG in Victoria claimed a spot, with Northwest MLA's seeking to engage the government in a larger discussion on the issue
A review of an art project at Charles Hays, Pacific Northwest LNG's community survey and developments on the education labour front all round out the top five of the week.

Mayor Mussallem's comments on Highway of Tears gain national attention -- A national story on the slow movement on Highway 16 and the recommendations of the Oppal Commission provide Mayor Mussallem with opportunity for comment (posted May 12, 2014)

Making Art from Trash from Shoreline clean up -- Students of Charles Hays will be putting some of the trash collected at the recent shoreline cleanup project to good work, with an art exhibit planned for Seafest. (posted May 12, 2014)
Pacific Northwest LNG to seek community input by way of survey -- An opportunity for Prince Rupert residents to share some thoughts on LNG development and access more information on employment and training options arrives in a household mailer (posted May 15, 2014)
Rotating School Closures may be next in Provincial Labour Dispute -- The week ended much as it started for parents of school age children in British Columbia, with little progress in talks reported and the situation moving forward still in the air (posted May 13, 2014)
