Golf Tourney season in full swing on the North Coast
While the weather hasn't been the most cooperative for local golfers in recent weeks, neither rain, nor wind or cloud will stop the summer months of tournament action for Prince Rupert.
June has already provided for a number of tournaments of the short golf season for the North Coast, with the Prince Rupert Marine Rescue Society Golf Scramble raising close to thirteen thousand dollars in support of the organization from their 3rd annual event held recently.
Already this spring and summer, the Prince Rupert Golf Course has played host to the Vic Marion Seniors Open as well as the Men's and Women's Jubilee Tournaments.
And July is shaping up as a busy month for tournament season, with a pair of high profile events on the calendar.
This weekend it's the Prince Rupert Firefighters Best Ball Scramble, which takes place on Saturday. That event will host teams of 4 with an entry fee of 60 dollars per player, all proceeds from the Saturday tournament will benefit the Fire Fighters efforts for Muscular Dystrophy.
July 19th provides the opportunity to golf with the Rampage, as the local Senior Men's hockey team hosts their annual Prince Rupert Rampage Charity Golf Scramble, the fifth year for that event. The entry fee of 70 dollars will provide entry for teams of 4 or 5 to take to the course, with proceeds to benefit the Prince Rupert Wildlife Shelter and other charities.
You can keep up to date on the developments at the Prince Rupert Golf Club from their website and facebook page.
