6.2 earthquake rattles Alaska, no Tsunami threat for North Coast of BC



A strong earthquake struck South-Central Alaska on Thursday morning, measuring 6.2 on the Richter scale, rattling the communities of Willow and nearby Anchorage. Communities between Fairbanks and Anchorage are also reporting their accounts of the temblor.

The quake which struck at 10:51 AM, had a depth of 63 miles.

As this advisory from the Alaska/BC Tsunami Centre advises, No Tsunami Warning was generated for the North Coast by the event.
