Blog Watching, Week ending October 12, 2014

With the Thanksgiving weekend at the half way point, the urge to seek out any new items for the blog has been a rather reduced effort for the last few days.

So best to turn our attention to those items that were in the more productive part of the week and which attracted the most attention from the readers along the way.

Every Sunday we offer up a recap for the week of the top five items viewed over the course of the last seven days. Included in the countdown, we will provide links to the articles in question, offering up with one click of the mouse, those items of the week that you may have missed.

This week, the entry of two more candidates to the Prince Rupert Mayoralty race was by far the most reviewed item of the last seven days.

Followed by interest in the latest twists in the Pacific Northwest LNG project, with the parent company Petronas putting the Provincial and Federal governments on the clock.

The extension of the closure of the Earl Mah Aquatic Centre was also a highly read item, with our review of the City's thoughts on Social Housing and the resumption of the Legislature in Victoria also finding more than a few look overs through the last seven days.

Kicking off this weeks review the addition of two more options for the Mayoralty for the November 15th vote.

Make that Four for the Mayoralty -- Former Prince Rupert Councillors Tony Briglio and Sheila Gordon-Payne, put forward their names for consideration in this years Mayor's race (posted October 6, 2014)

Earl Mah Aquatic Centre Closure extended until November 3rd  -- The Mayor calls on the City Manager to deliver the news of an extension to the closure of the city swimming pool

City to consider Housing and Social issues at Council session tonight -- A review of a report from the City Planner on housing and a discussion on Social issues made for a good portion of Monday's Council session, our preview of what was planned for that night attracted a fair bit of interest ( posted October 6, 2014 )

All about LNG as Legislature resumes sitting -- The British Columbia Legislature returned to session, with a rare fall sitting and the topic of the day and the week was LNG development  (posted October 6, 2014)
