Sheila Gordon-Payne will be directing all of her energies over the next month towards her bid for the Mayor's chair at Prince Rupert City Hall.

On Friday, the candidate released a media advisory, providing some background on her decision to take a leave of absence from the Prince Rupert Regional Hospital where she is Health Service Administrator for Prince Rupert and Haida Gwaii.

In addition to the note on her leave of abscond,  Ms. Gordon-Payne added further background to her Northern Health related plans, should she find success at the polls on November 15th.

“Today is my last day of work. I am taking a leave from the Hospital in order to work on running for mayor. My goal is to make Prince Rupert a better place through job creation and development. If elected, I will take another role within Northern Health that will allow me the ability to focus on being mayor,”

Ms. Gordon-Payne held a Meet the Candidate night at Cowpuccino's on Sunday, providing more background on her position points and observations on the municipal scene during this election year.
