Blog Watching, week ending November 9, 2014
It was politics week for the blog, with all but one of our top five items involving the events of the week in the Municipal election campaign.
Our accounts of both the Mayoralty and City Council Forums found a large audience, with each article tracking high in the view counts by the end of the week.
Every Sunday we offer up a recap for the week of the top five items viewed over the course of the last seven days. Included in the countdown, we will provide links to the articles in question, offering up with one click of the mouse, those items of the week that you may have missed.
This week, the two election forums provided for the bulk of the content, with only a Wind Warning sneaking in to stop the political sweep of the week.
Kicking off the five most read items of the week however, was our preview of the City Council Forum of Tuesday.
Prince Rupert All Candidates Forum could shape remainder of election -- Our preview of Tuesday night's All Candidates Forum found the largest audience of the week (posted November 4, 2014)
That item was followed by:
Attack on Inexperience doesn't resonate well with Lester Centre crowd -- Mayor Mussallem's approach to his competitors, particularly his talking points on candidate Lee Brain did not sit well with many at the Council Forum Tuesday (posted November 5, 2014)
Wind Warnings issued for North Coast and Haida Gwaii -- In the end the winds weren't quite as nasty as anticipated and the rainfall not as much as predicted, still our early warnings of the approaching storm found a large audience (posted November 4, 2014)
Challengers take the reins at Prince Rupert Mayoralty Forum -- Tuesday's Mayor's Forum was at its most interesting when the candidates took charge of the flow of the discussion with their rebuttal questions, our review of that process found an interested audience this week( posted November 5, 2014)
Council candidates seek to turn Tuesday's election forum appearance into vote -- Much like our overview of the Mayoralty forum, our account of the discussion points from the City Council Forum proved popular the time the weekend had approached (posted November 6, 2014)
