Rampage set to begin the challenge of November, facing a month long road trip

The remainder of November very well may play a huge role in the playoff aspirations for the Prince Rupert Rampage, the CIHL squad embarks on what in effect is a month long road trip starting this weekend, with the highway cruiser taking them deep into the Cariboo for two games.

Saturday night the Rampage pull into Williams Lake for a match up with the Stampeders, a pretty challenging way to have to start a month long road trip.

The Stampeders are at the moment, the undefeated machine of the CIHL, in their six games so far they have yet to lose a contest and have scored 35 goals, allowing only 21.

All of which has been achieved through discipline and by keeping their temper it would seem. There are few power play opportunities to be found against Williams Lake, as the Stampeders have the league's lowest Penalties in Minutes totals at 83.

Sunday, the Rampage will go from one extreme to the other, when they make the trek into Quesnel and an afternoon skate with the Kangaroos.

To say that Quesnel likes the physical stuff is an understatement, they are by far the league leaders in penalty assessments, at 178 minutes of penalty time in six games so far.

As for the hockey aspect of their CIHL experience this year, the Kangaroos are a .500 club in almost every way, 3 wins, 3 losses, 28 goals for and 29 goals against.

If the Rampage can stay out of the penalty box, which considering the nature of the Quesnel squad may be a big test, the road warriors may just grab two points from their Cariboo prospecting session.
