Last Monday, as part of the final duties for the outgoing City Council, the City of Prince Rupert presented its Civic Recognition and Merit Awards for 2014.
Honouring eight Rupertites who have made a significant contribution to the community not just in the last year, but for many years previous.
Honoured by the city this year were a number of well know community members for a range of activities and engagement with the region:
Mel Bishop for Civic Merit Award
Pouyan Mahboubi for Civic Appreciation Award
Reggie Huskins for Civic Appreciation Award
Doug Kydd for Civic Appreciation Award
Chris Green for Civic Appreciation Award
Diane Copperthwaite for Certificate of Appreciation
Linda Lutz for Certificate of Appreciation
Captain Shane Deinstadt, although not in attendance, was presented with the Certificate of Appreciation Award.
The recognition session took pace prior to last week's Council Session, the City's Video Archive has that video, however there is no sound available as part of the celebration of achievement.
It commences at the very start of the Council Session.
You can review more about what the Civic Recognition Program is about from the City's website
