Rupert Runners warn popular races in jeopardy without more volunteers; AGM to take place Tuesday
The Prince Rupert Runners are holding their Annual General Meeting on Tuesday evening, a session looking to fill a number of Executive positions, as well as positions for Learn to Run trainers and for Race Directors.
The meeting comes as the club warns of the potential impact on such popular events as the Skeena River Relay, Crest Glory Days, Rupert Half plus 8 and the Cannery Road Race. The local running club has outlined that the status of some of those events could be in jeopardy without members of the community stepping up to fill some of the key positions required.
To help lure area residents to join up, the Rupert Runners are offering those that attend the Tuesday meeting, the opportunity to enter in a Draw for one free year membership and free entry to the 2015 Race season for all events, with the exception of the Skeena River Relay.
Tuesday's meeting takes place at the Rockwell Room of the Crest Hotel, with a start time of 7 PM.
