Despite claiming two out of three against their Northwest rivals from Haida Gwaii, the Charles Hays Rainmakers slipped one notch this week in the Province Newspaper AAA Basketball rankings.
Charles Hays which had been riding the top of the listings at number three for the last month, surrendered one position in the top ten this week, as the Abbotsford Panthers, Fleetwood Park Dragons and Sir Charles Tupper Tigers, all of the Lower Mainland, showed the selection panel something a little bit extra in the last two weeks.
Still, a top five placement serves the Rainmakers well as they head off to Pitt Meadows for the annual Air Show, that high profile Vancouver tournament takes place starting tomorrow, wrapping up on the 17th.
The Rainmakers tip off against Sir Charles Tupper at 1:15 in their ice breaker matchup for Thursday afternoon.
With Tupper edging Charles Hays out of their third place spot with today's rankings, tomorrow's game might just carry even more enthusiasm than your usual tournament opener.
