City Council Preview, Monday, February 23, 2015
The Final Council Session of February will provide for the delivery of a number of reports to Council, with the Corporate Administrator to outline a proposed change of venue for March 9th for public consultation on Budget issues.
As well Council will review a report from the Economic Development Officer, who will outline the nature of a request for a letter of support from Fishernen's Hall.
Councillor Joy Thorkelson will also provide a report to Council, offering up further background and her Terms of Reference related to her proposal for two Council committees on issues related to Housing.
The remainder of the Council meeting will feature the usual listings of items from the Agenda for Regular Council sessions.
A late addition to the Council Agenda provided notice that Corinne Bomben, the City's Chief Financial Officer would make a presentation related to the 2015 Budget at the session.
Prior to the Regular Council Session, Council will then hold a Special Closed session of Council at 5 PM.
While not specific in nature, the City provided a short synopsis of the nature of the Tuesday evening plan of action: negotiations and related discussions respecting the proposed provision of municipal service that are at their preliminary stages, an item which Council by using Section 90 of the Community Charter, believes could reasonably be expected to harm the interests of the municipality if they were held in public.
