An overnight earthquake off of Port Hardy adds one more temblor to the list of recent events along the fault line between Vancouver Island and Haida Gwaii.
The early Wednesday morning event took place at 12:39 AM,
originally recorded as a 4.9 magnitude quake, it was later downgraded to 4.5 mg, located 168 kilometres West, Southwest of Port Hardy. It had a depth of 15 kilometres.
No Tsunami warning was generated by the event.
