With the 9 goal burst of energy of last week at the Jim still the talk of the town, the Prince Rupert Rampage will look to build on last Saturday's showcase performance when then take on the Terrace River Kings this Saturday night at the Jim Ciccone Civic Centre.
The victory last Saturday, was the back end of a weekend split with the Kitimat Ice Demons, with the Kitimat squad claiming the victory in the Friday match up.
Heading into tomorrow nights game with the Terrace, the Rampage hold a grip on first place in the West, on the strength of a record that includes 2 Regulation wins and 1 shootout win, to go along with a regulation and shootout loss.
Still it's a record that has kept them 1 point ahead of the Smithers Steelheads and Kitimat Ice Demons who are nipping at the back of the skates of the Rampage in this early portion of the CIHL season.
Saturday night's competition, the River Kings are off to a bit of a rough start having lost two of their three games on the year to this point, with a division low 10 goals for over the 180 minutes of hockey so far.
Fans at Saturday night's game will be watching to see if Tyler Ostrom and Patrick Robert can continue on with their hot hands, the pair of Rampage forwards have collected eight and six points respectively to this point of the season.
However such is the depth of the Prince Rupert roster this year, that there is a growing number of players not too far behind them on the score sheets through the first five games.
With the high level of offensive play in the first month, the defensive game seems to have taken a bit of a hit, with both Devin Gerrits and Jarrod Hildebrand finding no shortage of work in their own end of the rink since the season started.
Both Rampage goaltenders find themselves in the middle of the pack when it comes to Goals Against heading into the weekend action.
Game Time Saturday night is 7 PM at the Jim Ciccone Civic Centre.
