Blog Watching, Week ending November 22, 2015
Some change in the political scene marked a couple of items of review this week, with our item related to the surprise announcement of Judy Carlick-Pearson's decision to leave her elected post at the School District high among the must reads this week.
Also finding a quick audience was our late Friday evening article on the results of the Lax Kw'alaams Band Council election, which found a surge of readers seeking out the background on events over the weekend.
The Canadian Fish Company canning line closure continues to resonate across the North Coast, with two items related to the latest developments on that story making for heavy viewership this week.
Wrapping up the review of five items was our review of notes related to the release of a string of reports on the proposed LNG development at Lelu Island. As our item outlining the nature of Pacific Northwest LNG's submission of documents to the CEAA this month found a large audience.
However, the lead off item which found the largest audience of the week involved the most recent announcement from School District 52. With SD officials revealing that Judy Carlick -Pearson has stepped down from her position with the District, advising that a by-election for the Board of Education will be required in the New Year.

UFAWU-Unifor calls for Federal action on Jim Pattison Group licences -- The union representing shore workers at the Prince Rupert Canfisco plant take the announcement of closure of the canning lines to the Federal Government, calling for the Federal Fisheries Minister to revoke the fishing licences for Canfisco owned boats (posted November 19, 2015)
Change in Lax Kw'alaams! Garry Reece defeated, as John Helin elected to office as New Mayor -- A change at the top and among some members of Lax Kw'alaams Council as election results from Thursday's Band Council election were released on Friday (posted November 20, 2015 )
