With approximately 72 tickets available for each of the four sailings planned for the December 10th, there were more than a few disappointed parents that left the Civic Centre on Sunday without the passport to a harbour cruise and visit with Santa.
However, there is still one last chance for those that may have been unsuccessful at Sunday morning's ticket sale to find their way onto the Jingle Boat Express. With those that didn't have an opportunity to buy tickets, now directed to enter an upcoming draw for passage on the 1 PM sailing of the 10th.
A second chance to get tickets to the December 10th sailing of the Jingle Boat express can be found through for a draw for tickets, entry forms are available at the Port Interpretive Centre in Cow Bay |
Those entry forms will remain an option through the week from Tuesday November 24th until Saturday, November 28th.
The interpretive centre is open from 11 AM to Noon and again from 1 PM to 5 PM each day.
The popular holiday event shifted it's focus from the railway to the water last year, after traffic levels on the CN line between Port Edward and Prince Rupert made the train option more and more hard to deliver to Prince Rupert's youngsters.
The move to the Inside Passage proved to be an instant hit and popular way to celebrate the city's attachment to the harbour, like this year tickets went fast, which is where the idea of a second chance draw seems to have been created.
As they have in the past organizers of the Jingle Boat express will donating the proceeds from the ticket sales to the Salvation Army Christmas Present purchase program, which provides Christmas Presents for Children in the community.
