The City's Sidewalk rehabilitation program will start up again this month, with the stretch of sidewalk at the Service BC building the first stretch to see new cement |
The announcement of the restart of the program for 2016 came through a post on the City website, noting that work will pick up at the Service BC building in the 200 block of Third Avenue West, carrying up along the north side as it progresses.
Rupert Wood N Steel is in charge of the project which received its start last fall, when the first stretch of remediation took place from McBride Street along the empty lot to the Service BC building.
The City's advisory notes that businesses that will be impacted by the construction project will be notified ahead of time and alternative corridors will be set up for pedestrians as the work travels up the block.
You can review the full statement from the City here.
Rupert Wood N Steel is also currently working on a stretch at the Besner Block area on Third Avenue West, with the sidewalk currently torn up and pedestrian traffic being re-routed around the area.
The work related to that project however does not appear to be part of the larger Sidewalk rehabilitation program.
