Geoff Gould honoured by Station 64 for 35 years of service to Marine Rescue on the North Coast

Geoff Gould has been a long time influence on the local marine rescue scene for years, a long time member of the Royal Canadian Marine Search and Rescue Station 64 and its predecessor before, over his thirty five years in providing volunteer services to the community he has been one of the main contributors to the service on the North Coast.

Mr. Gould a Coxswain with Station 64 recently received his 35th anniversary certificate and to celebrate the milestone, the marine rescue station has christened their Bravo vessel in Gould's name.

It makes for a fitting tribute to the long time volunteer on the North Coast, having spent countless hours working on the vessel both in routine maintenance and large scale refits.

He founded the local Prince Rupert Marine Rescue Society back in 1986 and has served in a number of positions ever since, setting the foundation for the growing presence that the organization has when it comes to its dedication to Marine Safety in the region.

The newly named Geoff Gould is one of two vessels that the Station 64 crews use to respond to marine incidents, provide educational services for the community or make patrols in North Coast waters

The ceremony took place over the weekend and some photos and a video of the event can be found on the Rescue Station 64 facebook page.
