Charles Hays Junior Boys Hosting Coastal Clash this weekend
While the Senior Boys are off to a good start (79 to 32 winners over Burnaby on Day One) to claim the Pitt Meadows Air Show this weekend (see our item here) the Junior Boys have the local spotlight to themselves back at home.
Starting this afternoon, the Junior Rainmakers play host to the Annual Coastal Clash which gets underway with four games on Day One of the tournament at the Charles Hays Secondary Gym.
Seven teams take to the court through the course of the two day tourney, as Mount Elizabeth from Kitimat, along with Queen Charlotte Secondary, Terrace's Caledonia, Smithers and the Coast Tsimshian Academy join the Prince Rupert Middle School Storm and the Rainmakers from Charles Hays in the quest for bragging rights for early January in the Northwest.
The first tip of the tournament takes place at 3:30 today with eleven games to follow leading up to the Tournament finale on Saturday at 7 PM.

The Rainmakers head into the Coastal Clash with some pretty impressive press clippings. Coming off their success in Prince George last weekend, the Charles Hays Squad found itself moving from the honourable mentions to placement in the Top Ten.
For the Wednesday rankings release the Rainmakers were noted in the Number Nine position in the weekly Junior Varsity Rankings in the Vancouver Province.
Two more teams from the Charles Hays Basketball Program are in action this weekend as well, as the Senior Girls are on the road to play in Terrace, while the Junior Girl Rainmakers travel a little further down Highway 16 for games in Smithers.
You can follow up on the results from the weekend through the CHSS twitter feed. Besides updates on Rainmaker games both home and away, the twitter feed features a number of photos from game action from recent tournament play.
