Bringing the noise! Adult Beginner Band program starts tonight
A chance to join the ranks of the city's musical community starts tonight at the Peter Witherly Community Music Studio at Charles Hays Secondary, as musical director Kristie Tillman puts you through your paces as part of an Adult Beginner Band program.
The first session takes place at 7:30 PM and participants will learn the basics from how to put your instrument together, read music and turn those notes into sound.
There is no cost for participants but you do need to have an instrument and the music book Tradition of Excellence Book 1.
Among the instruments that they will make use in the program are flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, French horn, trombone, baritone, tuba and percussion (including mallets and drums).
You can find out more about the program by contacting Ms. Tillman at ktillman@sd52.bc.ca
