North Pacific Cannery Historical Site to receive $75,000 grant

Port Edward's North Pacific Cannery Historical Site was one of a number of communities to receive some good news over the weekend, with the local attraction set to receive a 75,000 dollar grant to be put towards renovation of the Cannery Working Dock.

That project is to be one of the key elements to the Cannery site and has been a work in progress over the last few years. North Pacific has been actively seeking grant money for a number of restoration projects to save buildings on the site that are at a risk of damage.

While Port Edward was the only North Coast community to gain grant funding, they were not the only Northwest Community to find success, with a number of communities to the east and across Hecate Strait on Haida Gwaii also receiving good news.
