A pair of changes for customers to take note of from Prince Rupert based CityWest this month, as the communication company extends its hours of operation in the city and prepares to introduce a new visual interface for digital TV viewers.
The local storefront office is now open through to 7 PM on Thursdays in Prince Rupert in order to better serve customers that many not be able to stop in during the regular business hours.
“We’re doing this to improve the experience for our customers, who have found it harder to come in during regular hours,” ... “From what we’ve heard, this may be due to an increase in shift work in our communities, and we’re more than happy to try it make it easier for our customers to get in touch with us.” -- Tina Lussier, VP of Customer Service
As well, CityWest will be extending their Call-Centre hours on Thursdays to run until 7PM, that is in addition to their 24 hour technical support line.
More on those changes can be found here.
As for your digital TV experience, a new onscreen guide is set to be introduced to the entire CityWest Digital TV system later this month.
The upgrade will offer up a new grid that will show the viewer 2.5 hours ahead, as opposed to the current hour and a half, customers will also be able to see 7 channels at once compared to the five now presently on view and an expanded search function will allow customers to gain more access about the programming they may be looking for.
“We’ve had the current digital TV guide for almost 10 years now, and it’s time to change it to a more modern aesthetic,” ... “We’re confident this new look will provide our customers with a great experience as they watch their favourite programming.” -- Chris Armstrong, Director of Marketing at CityWest.
With the launch of the new digital display upgrades will be required to the CityWest internal network system and that will mean some interruptions to service during the changeover.
The schedule for the change and potential service interruptions is as follows:
Prince Rupert and Port Edward -- July 17 from 2 to 5 AM
Terrace and Kitimat -- July 24 from 2 to 5 AM
Further notes related to the change can be explored here.
For more information about the new guide see this information sheet from CityWest.
A video to introduce the service is now available on the CityWest You Tube page.
