The doors open up Friday evening for a two day shopping expedition in Prince Rupert as the Kaien Island Craft Fair offers up the latest creations of the artisans of the Northwest.
The November event is one that many of the regions artists, designers and crafters have been working through the year towards, preparing their works for display at the annual celebration of the artistic community.
The popular event is one of the highlight gatherings on the North Coast Calendar, with table after table after table of items up for sale in the Gymnasium of the Jim Ciccone Civic Centre. Over 100 tables will be displaying and selling art and craft works by artisans across the region, making it the largest craft fair in the area.
Over 100 tables will be ready for your review this weekend as the Kaien Island Craft Fair takes over the Jim Ciccone Civic Centre |
Friday Night's opening comes at 6 PM, offering up three hours for the early shoppers, the longer Saturday event will start at 10 AM running through until 5 PM.
Sponsored by the Prince Rupert Community Arts Council, the annual event has provided for some unique holiday gifts for those living in town and family and friends found far from the North Coast.
The two day event serves as the earliest indication that the holiday season is fast approaching, with the Craft Fair making the Civic Centre a community gathering spot, one that brings large crowds to the Recreation Centre each November.
