Save On Foods Prince Rupert looks to fill the van for the Food Bank this Wednesday
An opportunity to help the Prince Rupert Salvation Army Food Bank stock its shelves and kitchen this November comes up on Wednesday as Save on Foods on Third Avenue looks to their customers to help them stuff the Save On Van for the cause.
To help spur on the charitable nature of Prince Rupert residents, Save On Foods will be offering up a chance to win $150 dollars as part of the seven hour van stuffing, with those who donate a food item provided with one ballot for the Food Gift Card Giveaway.
The Stuff the Van project will start at 8 AM and continue through the day until 3 PM.
The helpful assist to the Food Bank is but one of two current projects that the management and staff at the Third Avenue store are working, on Save On Foods is also collecting winter coats for those in need in the community.
That initiative has already proven to be a popular way to lend a hand, with customers bringing in the winter coats on a daily basis, filling the bin at the front of the store to the top on constant basis.
The two projects come as the need for assistance in the community reaches its highest level, with the Christmas season fast approaching, the call for help at the Salvation Army grows as each week brings us closer to the Holiday season.
As we noted on the blog in October, the Salvation Army is currently compiling its list of those who will require Christmas Hampers this season, the registration process began in late October and will continue through until November 24th.
