Residents of the 11th Avenue East area of the city will have their first opportunity to gain a better understanding of a proposed supportive housing residence for that part of the city, with the proponent Willy R. Beaudry hosting a public information session at the Crest Hotel on January 18th.
The project which is to be known as 333 Trinity House was introduced to Prince Rupert City Council as a facility that would serve as a Men's Recovery House to serve the North Coast and surrounding areas, villages and coastal communities to provide a safe, clean recovery based home that will benefit the men families and our communities.
If approved, it would offer up to 15 beds, as well as housing amenities in the residence located on the city's east side.
The project will require an amendment to the City's zoning bylaws and that process requires a consultation period, which starts with the January 18th meeting.
That session at the Crest will include an Open House from 5 to 5:30 PM, followed by a scheduled forty five minute Question and Answer period where Mr. Beaudry will answer questions and provide further background to the proposed use of the facility.
For those that missed the first Open House, a second opportunity to review the details will be made available from 6:15 to 7 PM.
