Blog Watching: Week ending May 27, 2018
Our look at the top five stories from the North Coast Review on the week finds a business story capturing the most attention from readers on the week.
The growing list of export contracts for Pinnacle Renewable Resources gained one more entry this week, as the energy pellet provider signed off on a deal with a second Japanese company.
It was a busy week of travel for Prince Rupert Mayor Lee Brain, with the Mayor in attendance at a Vancouver planning conference and then taking some time to seek out fellow municipal officials to discuss port taxation cap issues.
As the 2017-18 school year comes to an end and Graduation looms just over the horizon, students heading off to University, College or trade school will want to take a look at a Bursary program being offered by the Prince Rupert based financial services organization Northern Savings.
Prince Rupert's Mariner's park is set for a celebration, with the City looking to June 23rd to officially open the downtown facility that overlooks Prince Rupert harbour.
And Public radio fans will be making their way to the North Coast Convention Centre this week as the popular CBC One program Cross Country Check Up comes to town for a Sunday afternoon broadcast, with the topic for today's two hour program that of: "Is it time for Canada to transfer resource rights back to First Nations
The top story however, takes us to the waterfront and the prospect of future increases in pellet shipments for Prince Rupert's Westview Terminal.
Pinnacle Renewable Resources signs second Japanese agreement -- Business news found the largest audience of the week, as Pinnacle Resources continues to line up export contracts with Japanese energy producers. (posted May 23 , 2018)
