Lack of entries scuttles President's Cup Golf Tourney for 2018
Some prime tee times have been cleared for this weekend at the Prince Rupert Golf Course, that after organizers of the 2018 Presidents Cup called off the tournament owing to a lack of entries for the three day tournament.
The event which was to start this afternoon, had offered up three days of nine hole rounds of golf and had hopes of attracting up to 32 male participants in the weekend of golf.
As the deadline for applications neared, the volume of those showing interest in the three day tournament did not deliver enough golfers ready to tee off to make the tournament feasible.
In other Golf Course news: the Pro Shop and Range have put out the Help Wanted sign for staff members with 2 positions now available.
the Work involves picking up Range Balls, retrieving members' clubs from storage, cleaning clubs, washing and parking the power carts at the course.
The Golf Course is looking for workers 14 years of age an older, the position is paying BC's minimum wage.
If you are interested in the position, or know someone who may be a good fit, bring a resume down to the Pro Shop to the attention of Willie Wekel, Prince Rupert Golf Course Manager.
