Mechanical issues for the Northern Expedition are making for a longer than usual transit time for the service in and out of the Prince Rupert Fairview Terminal (BC Ferries photo) |
The Northern Expedition is the slow boat to Rupert this weekend, with ongoing engine issues on the vessel's starboard side leaving the ferry to operate at a reduced speed on its weekend schedule.
The revisions include the journey of the Northern Expedition north to Prince Rupert today and for it's Monday sailings for Haida Gwaii
The most recent update for the vessel has it expected to arrive in Prince Rupert at 9 PM tonight and then to set sail for Skidegate at 1 AM on Monday.
BC Ferries has posted the transit time through to tomorrow as part of the Service Notice feature of their website, noting that hopes are for the regular schedule of sailings to resume as of Monday.
